29-09-2007 > RFID-Bus, our new card reader
Ingenium’s R+D department has developed our latest product: a BUSing® card reader for homes, offices or hotels.

It fits behind any backplate, measuring 5.5cm x 5.5cm, and can be covered with any blind cover or card reader.

As with all our BUSing® devices, this one is also programmable. It has two programming modes to choose from: push-button mode and short/long pulse mode.

Push-button mode, whenever you pass the card in front of the reader, it will execute one action or other, depending on what you have programmed it to do. You can program up to 64 commands or events with this.

Short/long mode, amongst the many events you can program, it can deactivate alarms. So, if you hold the card near the reader for some 3 or 4 seconds, (long mode) it will deactivate the alarm and if you pass it in front momentarily, (short mode) it will activate the alarm.

You can program the RFID-Bus as access controls – meaning you can hand out these cards to whomever you wish to have access with their name and access time. For example, the gardener will have his own card and will have an access time between 8 and 10 am. If he loses it, you simply annul the card. Simple security.

The RFID-Bus can also open electronic locks.

The device comes prepared to store the access information which can be visualised with the RFID software installed in any pc connected to BUSing®. This software will be available soon.
